Commissions and Pet Portraits
Commission requests are welcome. A commission painting can be from a reference photo of your pets, your home, a favorite landscape or vacation spot, or any other specific concept.
Pet Portraits can be made in a number of styles: a full-color acrylic painting on stretched canvas for an accurate portrayal (more customized), a charcoal drawing, or quick pencil sketch that captures the spirit (fast turnaround). Memorializing a favorite pet is a frequent pet portrait request.
Price is set by the size of the painting, medium (acrylic or pastel), and the number of review sessions with the client. A commission does not include framing, but can be included at the client’s request.
Prices for commission paintings or drawings are:
- 5″x7″ Charcoal pet portrait: $50 (or as quoted – discounts may apply)
- 8″x10″ Charcoal pet portrait: $75 (or as quoted – discounts may apply)
- Full color pet portraits or commission paintings are $1.50 per square inch for acrylic on stretched canvas. (Height x Width = Total Square Inches) Standard sizes are 8″x10″, 11″x14″, 12″x16″, 16″x20″. There is a $50 per subject charge for more than one pet or focal point in a painting. Turnaround time is usually fairly fast, but can take as long as a month (or longer), dependent on the size of the commission and my current work load.
Note that these are not printed photos touched up with paint on a canvas wrap – they are actual hand-drawn and fully hand-painted portraits and commission pieces by a professional artist using professional quality materials.
